They’ve been a while coming, but LAG’s first general-release Artist Signature guitars are now available in the UK. Based upon the hand-made, luthier-designed originals the four Signature models offer an affordable taste of the guitars designed by their respective artists.
The first of these Signature models is the S1000PC-HOS, Phil Campbell Motorhead model. Played by Phil for many years, this iconic LAG guitar is a faithful reconstruction of the instrument that has rocked many a stadium. Its original design – not dissimilar to an Explorer – and its vintage LAG logo, are exact replicas of Phil Campbell’s originally designed guitar.
These sought after guitars are now available in the UK and will retail for £899.
Next up is the Charles Hedger Model. Charles is one-half of the guitar power behind black metal band Cradle of Filth, and more recently, Imperial Vengeance. His guitar is based upon a standard Arkane body but features his choice of DiMarzio pickups, neck setup and mystical eight-pointed star inlays.
The S1000CHPUH is available now and retails for £1299.00.
Stephan Forte of the European Classical Metal band Adagio is another long-term user of LAG Guitars. His 7 string Arkane has been available as a hand-made custom model for a long time, with a good number of aficionados paying the 3000Euro price tag. However, this official Signature model represents superb value at only £1399 for a 7 string, DiMarzio equipped beast with a beefed-up Floyd Rose and scalloped fingerboard. Stephans S1000SFBSH model will be available in the UK from June.
Lastly, a solid body Nylon string designed for the Nigerian-born, British-educated French afrobeat funk star Keziah Jones. Discovered in a Paris Metro station in the early 90s, Keziah is set to release his fifth album on which his Signature LAG features frequently. His solid body nylon string is amplified thanks to a very highly regarded Shadow Nanoflex Pickup mounted under the saddle, which in turn is matched to a specially commissioned StudioLAG preamp system with Keziah Jones’ own presets installed.
The S1000KJNAT will be available in the UK for special order and will retail for £999.00.
